Upper Montgomery Joint Authority owns and operates a wastewater treatment and sewer collection system serving the boroughs of East Greenville, Pennsburg, Red Hill, and portions of Upper Hanover Township. The treatment plant processes an average of 2 million gallons of wastewater per day while supporting a service area of approximately 10,793 residents, nearly 4,000 households, 347 businesses, 9 schools, 19 restaurants, and 7 food stores. As the region continues to grow at an estimated annual rate of 0.5%, UMJA remains committed to providing reliable infrastructure and environmental protection for the communities we serve.
Through the operation and maintenance of nearly 40 miles of sewer main, our team works every day to ensure wastewater is safely collected, treated, and returned cleanly to the environment. UMJA continues to invest in infrastructure improvements, preventative maintenance, infiltration reduction efforts, and public education initiatives to support sustainable growth and protect local waterways for future generations.
