Upper Montgomery Joint Authority announced its partnership with Bird Town Pennsylvania in July of 2024. Since then, UMJA has been a proud partner and strives to provide a welcoming environment to native birds and other wildlife.
Birds
Since the partnership, UMJA has create a sanctuary for our flying friends. The peninsula on the Green Lane Reservoir is now equipped with beautiful walking trails, 28 bird houses, Purple Martin Gourds, A Chimney Swift Tower, and and Osprey Nest. With annual bird watching events, we have spotted over 38 species of birds.
Wildlife
When not looking in the sky, you will find all sorts of wildlife down on the ground. Roaming the UMJA fence you will usually find some white tail deer and some foxes. Plenty of friends like the groundhogs and turtles will usually find their way inside the fence too.
